Jose Ortega y Gasset

“Love is that splendid triggering of human vitality the supreme activity which nature affords anyone for going out of himself toward someone else”

“Excellence means when a man or woman asks of himself more than others do”

Jose Ortega y Gasset (9 May 1883 – 18 October 1955) was a Spanish liberal philosopher, founder of the magazine Revista de Occidente and essayist working during the first half of the 20th century while Spain oscillated between monarchy, republicanism and dictatorship. He was, along with Nietzsche, a proponent of the idea of perspectivism, which was pioneered in European thought by Immanuel Kant.
